Mouse?!

I think I just heard a mouse! Oh, I really hate mice, I hope I'm wrong... but this beautiful fall weather sometimes brings these little creatures into our nice warm house.

Last winter we had a problem with mice for a little while. I think we caught a total of seven! Three or so when Shawna and Rex were staying at our house... Yeah, it was not fun. We would catch them with glue traps and I always dreaded checking them for fear of seeing one. Finally we found a definite spot that they were coming in and sealed that off. We also put poison in our crawl-space and that was the last of the little rodents. I just don't want to deal with them again!

You'd think since I grew up on a farm I wouldn't be afraid of a little old mouse. Well, I partly blame this fear on my mom. I think as a kid, seeing her jump from the ground to the table made me think they could eat us alive or something. Or maybe it was when one crawled up my cousin, John's, leg and he caught it there and held it screaming and crying until his dad helped him get it out. I don't know for sure, I just know that they make me scream and jump to the nearest thing off the ground.

Anyway, I think I'll just avoid the living room for a little while...

Oh my, I don't blame you for wanting to avoid the living room! I hate mice too. 7 last year? Wow.. I'm so glad we've never had that problem, and I hope we never will!!! Those glue traps are interesting though.. especially when the mice are still alive! Yuck.

discusting! I think mice are dredful. Even though my little sister grew up with little pet rats, I still can't stand any of the little creatures. They're probably harmless, but they're small and fast, and that's just not good. Hope that they don't come back this year.
The new picture of Landon is adorable, I love it...

Oh - I know what you mean! Last year I found a whole group of baby mice plus a few big ones hiding in a pile of canvas's (art from school). I swear there were around 10 mice! I freaked out and was shaking and just horrified. We caught about 8 mice before Schendel came to set traps and bait. Since then we've had a minimal problem.

hope it's not a huge problem for you has it gets colder!

Is that where our mouse went?!

Wow! We have the exact same problem! I know exactly what you're going through. Last year was my first experience in our new home with those awful things. This year we're a lot better at catching them. One thing we found out is that they really seem to like dog food. Now we have the dog food in a place where they don't really go. In the past my husband has always been around to dispose of them. His new job is taking him away from home a lot more though and I'm not looking forward to getting rid of them on my own. :(

Would you like to borrow a cat? I have enough to spare, and I'd be glad to loan out my best mouser for while! :o)

When we lived in a house in Missouri we got a couple. And the crazy thing was that we had two cats! But they could care less about the mice, they would just sit there and watch them. What worthless pets they turned out to be! But we used those heavy duty clips that are all plastic, and got both of them. I can totally relate with the mom thing. One time when I was in gradeschool I helped my mom catch a mouse, and she was completely freaking out the entire time, and it made me really nervous. I ended up being the one taking care of it, lol! And I did the mouse catching in MO too.
